The Film Lab is a Detroit bred cinematic craft cocktail experience. Our indoor/outdoor destination location is nestled in the heart of quaint and quirky Hamtramck. This Detroit Gem harkens to a film experience both nostalgic and brand new. Designed as a venue for creative like-minded folks, it serves to both entertain and support community building within the film industry. Woman owned and welcoming to the community, The Film Lab offers a refreshed cocktail menu and a lush garden patio. Individual screening rooms and virtual events will allow for connections to continue to blossom as we reopen in the safest manner for our patrons. Patio and bar open Thursday through Sunday, 6pm-midnight.

ABOUT THE FILM LAB
The Film Lab is a microcinema and cocktail bar in the city of Hamtramck, located in the heart of Detroit.
Our mission is to connect film lovers and makers through the universal language of cinema, with a side of craft cocktails!
We are honored to be a Knight Foundation Awardee, a Michigan Counsel for Arts and Cultural Affairs Awardee, and recipients of several other local and state funded grants. Detroit Free Press, Eater Detroit.
This is just the beginning! We are in the process of converting the second floor of The Film Lab

TEAM
Lara Sfire, a native Detroiter, is the owner and co-founder. Sfire is a filmmaker with an MFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, former gaffer in NY and the Sundance Labs, current member of the Final Girls, a Knight Foundation awardee and OGFG, collectives of female identifying filmmakers, and a series producer for Kresge Arts in Detroit. She also founded Film Shop Detroit, a collective of filmmakers who share works in progress.
